LUCIEN HERVÉ

In parallel with the retrospective Lucien Hervé at the Jeu de Paume-Chateau de Tours from November 18th 2017 to May 27th 2018, Galerie Maubert will bring together architectural and humanist photographs in a personal exhibition : Lucien Hervé, shadow builder. The notion of builder is central in the work of Lucien Hervé, who photographed most of the major modernist construction sites (Chandigarh, Brasilia …). It is the shadow and its geometrical forms that build Lucien Hervé’s photography and become his privileged tools. Through a process mise-en-abyme, he builds, with the shade, a new architecture in the architecture.
